Challenge

Design and integrate a secure, sustainable and user-friendly solution to streamline video communication and collaboration for medical specialists.

Solution

Kinly developed a platform-neutral AV solution based on Cisco hardware and a Pexip cloud system to secure maximum reliability, security and sustainability.

Result

OLVG’s new conference centre enhances collaboration, improves meeting efficiency and ensures seamless communications, all while being futureproof and sustainable.

The background

OLVG is the city hospital of Greater Amsterdam, with main locations in the East and West. Formed as a result of the merger between the Sint Lucas Andreas Hospital and the Onze Lieve Vrouwe Gasthuis, OLVG has been at the heart of Amsterdam’s unique society for over a century and a half. OLVG aims to play a pivotal role in improving health and care for everyone in the urban environment, creating a better life for all in a healthier Amsterdam.

OLVG needed to simplify, enhance and streamline its video communication in a sustainable and secure way. To do this, it needed the support and guidance of a trusted technology advisor. OLVG engaged Kinly with the primary aim of enabling its medical specialists to communicate and collaborate with each other as easily as possible, regardless of location or device, through a brand-new conference centre.

The solution

As an educational hospital, OLVG needed a solution optimised for complete reliability. Beginning with the conduction of a thorough site survey, we collaborated with OLVG to identify their needs, constraints and ambitions. Based on these insights, we developed a holistic AV solutions package that set the standard for the new conference centre.

Our approach placed heavy emphasis on user requirements and sustainability. To ensure audio and video of the highest quality combined with maximum sustainability, we opted to implement a platform-neutral solution integrated with Cisco hardware and a Pexip cloud system.

The result

OLVG now has the full benefit of a state-of-the-art, dependable and user-friendly conference centre that improves meeting efficiency and patient handovers with clear visuals and high quality audio.

The integration of advanced technology means that faults can be rectified swiftly, creating a futureproofed AV environment. In addition, the solutions package has been specified and designed with sustainability and performance at the forefront of our considerations, ensuring consultations are conducted without any difficulties while simultaneously minimising OLVG’s impact on the environment.

The testimonial

“The improvements in technology have noticeably enhanced our efficiency. Everything is more effective and meetings are now more reliable, allowing for the seamless inclusion of remote participants.

Each morning, surgeons conduct a handover meeting to discuss patients admitted the previous evening, ensuring policies are implemented securely and efficiently. The visual quality and clarity in audio have enabled more effective handovers across multiple locations.”
