Focus 21, now part of Kinly, were engaged to provide an extensive AV upgrade as part of the relocation and renovation of Bayer’s UK head office, with a desire to bring about a cultural change and create a flexible agile working environment.
Collaborating with MiX consultancy and the Bayer team, Kinly helped install a cutting-edge AV system that links the UK business seamlessly with Bayer’s headquarters in Germany. Using the latest in room management solutions and USB connectivity they created a standardised approach to the meeting room technology that was simple and intuitive for both colleagues and guests.
The cultural change for Bayer is clear, the ease of AV connectivity has helped increase productivity, and the signage and branding has provided an office space that the employees are extremely proud of.
The technology had to reflect the move towards a more agile way of working whilst adhering to corporate standards. Bayer wanted content sharing at the forefront of their business and we wanted to ensure we made that happen for them.

Change Agent for Move Project
We collaborated with MiX consultancy to install a cutting edge AV system that links the UK business seamlessly with Bayer’s headquarters in Germany. The building boasts more than 60 communal presentation and meeting spaces, with each space linked through to a central control system. These spaces needed to bolster Bayer's image as an innovation driven organisation, whilst enabling an easy user experience.
Skype enabled presentation rooms were each equipped with the same technology to give the users the ability to move seamlessly between spaces. The set up includes a Crestron Digital Media Multiform Transmitter, Biamp conference room docking solutions, a Logitech PTZ webcam and Innovox Soundbar. The visuals are presented on NEC LED displays, with 22 rooms featuring screens ranging from 46” to 84”.
The building includes a restaurant area to cater for working lunches or more formal occasions. We fitted out dining booths with 32” displays to allow diners to use these spaces to collaborate and share ideas. The restaurant itself now features Cisco video conferencing and data presenting facilities, along with an array of large format displays and a high brightness projector by Christie, to bring the space to life.
The Baylab Inspirational Space was transformed into a innovative presentation area. The space has multiple inputs controlled by a Creston panel to enable both wired and wireless presenting. An NEC projector, Draper 109” screen and SMART interactive panels enable users to make the most of the lab environment.
The project features over 400 endpoints integrated onto the client’s network, ranging from video end points, VOIP interfaces, IPTV receivers, touch panels, central controllers and wireless presenting receivers. The outcome is an integrated user experience that has created a cultural change within Bayer UK.
“Since moving to our new office at Green Park, I find the ease of AV connectivity has helped increase my productivity. The wireless connectivity in the meeting rooms and breakout spaces means that I can use my laptop as a mobile office, I can move around our new home to wherever suits me without worrying about cables. My increased use of the AV technology has also led to an improvement in my presentation materials, as I am now more practised in identifying what works in different sized meetings. It has also enhanced the meeting experienced for home-based workers, as the improved sound in the meeting rooms means they can hear everything being shares in the meetings. The new branding and signage has made me feel proud to be part of Bayer,” said Carly Santer, Change Agent for Move Project, Bayer.
