We’re thrilled to announce that Kinly has been awarded the Menopause Friendly Accreditation. This comes is in recognition of our business-wide commitment to being an inclusive and supportive company that values its people and empowers them to thrive during every stage of their career.

Established in 2021 by Henpicked: Menopause in the Workplace, the Menopause Friendly Accreditation certifies high standards and proven practices and is an industry-recognised mark of excellence.

We believed that achieving the Menopause Friendly Accreditation was essential to identify and remove blind spots in our people policies, while lifting any unintentional barriers that existed for our employees.

Recognising that menopause can also have a significant impact on wellbeing, confidence and work experience. So we took responsibility for understanding our colleagues’ challenges and set out to create an environment where people feel respected and able to thrive.

To achieve accreditation, we were assessed by an Independent Panel and demonstrated effectiveness across our culture, policies and practices, training, engagement and working environment, including:

Creating space for open conversation

We were recognised for our willingness to engage in honest and supportive conversations about menopause. By encouraging dialogue, our people feel seen, heard and valued during a particularly important time in their lives.

Introducing a menopause leave policy

A significant milestone for our company, establishing a dedicated menopause policy demonstrated that we are not only listening, but taking practical action to support our employees in a meaningful way.

Providing visible support through mentors and resources

By openly promoting our mentors and support networks, we made it clear that guidance, understanding and practical help are readily available. This visibility reassures employees that they do not have to navigate their menopause journey alone.

The change that made the greatest impact was in creating openness for conversations about menopause to drive a culture where vulnerability feels safe and employees are recognised and understood. Beyond emotional support, these conversations also provide our people with tools, knowledge and confidence to advocate for themselves, seek the adjustments they need and access the right support.

Pursuing Menopause Friendly Accreditation was important for us to show that our commitment goes beyond words. Key to this success was a high level of engagement from our management team who shared the vision for openness and support around menopause in the workplace.

Fully committed to being Menopause Friendly, our senior leaders wanted to demonstrate real action by formally recognising the steps taken to build a culture of understanding and inclusion for those experiencing menopause and colleagues who want to support them.

Taj Ghere, Managing Director, UK Region, Kinly, said:

“Being awarded the Menopause Friendly Accreditation is an important acknowledgement of the progress we are making to better recognise and respond to the real needs of our people. We are focused on creating a culture and environment where our colleagues feel comfortable having open conversations and can access the right support knowing their wellbeing genuinely matters to us.

This recognition reinforces our responsibility as leaders to continue challenging outdated perceptions and embedding inclusive practices that support our teams throughout every stage of their lives.”

Deborah Garlick, CEO and Founder of Menopause in the Workplace by Henpicked, said:

“Kinly has shown a real commitment to creating a workplace where menopause can be spoken about openly and support is visible, practical and meaningful.

Achieving the Menopause Friendly Accreditation is a fantastic recognition of the progress it has made, from listening to colleagues and training managers to building trusted mentor support. Congratulations to everyone at Kinly on this important achievement.”
